4. Your Memorialist's parents poun wied during the early

infancy of your Memorialist who was brought up by an orphan

Home at Cedar Rapids aforesaid, Your Petitioner nas no

record and is therefore unable to give any particulars as

to his parents.

5. Your Memorialist has resided within nis Britamic

Majesty's Dominions at the Colony of Hong Kong aforesaid

since une 19th day of February 1916 in the manner and to

the extent in the next paragraph of this Memorial mentialed.

Your Memorialist nas regularly pursued his occupation

as an officer on board one or other of the Steamships owned

by Messieurs Douglas Lapraik and company which necessitates

perious of absence from the said Colony.

With the exception of one voyage to Mesopotamia and one

to Vladivostock these perious of absence nave been from nine

to ten days.

The intervals between these voyages have been from

three to four days ana in suan intervals your petitioner has

always returned to nis nome at No.30 Praya East.

7. Your Memorialist is possessed of such a knowledge of

the English language as enables him to speak read and write

it fluently. In the event of this Memorial being granted,

your Memorialist intends to reside in His Britamic Majesty's

Dominions at Hong Kong aforesaid.
